A Philadelphia Eagles legend believes quarterback Jalen Hurts needs to improve his performance for the team to succeed this season. During an interview on the 94WIP Afternoon Show, Donovan McNabb suggested Hurts should avoid playing “hero” ball, especially after the fifth-year QB threw two interceptions—one on the opening drive and another in the end zone—during the Eagles’ 34-29 victory over the Green Bay Packers in Brazil.
“Too many turnovers,” McNabb remarked. “He’s trying to be a hero and make miraculous plays instead of going for the easier ones.”
Despite the critique, McNabb expressed confidence in Hurts’ ability to correct the errors and improve. “For Jalen, it’s a chance to learn and fix these mistakes as the season progresses,” McNabb said.
Hurts ended the game with 278 passing yards, two touchdowns, and two interceptions, while also losing a fumble due to a bad snap from new starting center Cam Jurgens.
