The Tennessee Titans are gearing up to start their 2024 regular season on the road against the Caleb Williams-led Chicago Bears, but they’ll be missing a key defensive player.
New head coach Brian Callahan, in his NFL coaching debut, will be without veteran safety Jamal Adams, who is sidelined due to a hip injury, according to NFL Network insider Tom Pelissero.

The All-Pro defender was one of several key veterans the Titans added this offseason. They also traded for and signed Super Bowl-winning cornerback L’Jarius Sneed. On offense, the team brought in experienced wide receivers Calvin Ridley and Tyler Boyd, along with Pro Bowl running back Tony Pollard.
The Titans are entering the post-Mike Vrabel era with a fresh identity. Missing Adams against a strong Bears offense, which features Pro Bowl receiver Keenan Allen, 1,000-yard receiver D.J. Moore, and first-round pick Rome Odunze, could be significant.
Both the Titans and Bears are aiming to exceed expectations this season. While other teams in their divisions and conferences are getting more attention for playoff contention, these two teams remain under the radar.
This Week 1 matchup will be a crucial test for both teams to measure their progress from last season. If the Titans can secure a road win without Adams, it could generate valuable momentum for the rest of the season.
