EUGENE — Oregon may soon see several players return to the field.
Ducks head coach Dan Lanning provided updates on offensive guard Matthew Bedford (left knee), receiver Gary Bryant Jr. (lower leg), and outside linebacker Ashton Porter (personal reasons) during the first bye week of the season.
Bedford wasn’t included on Oregon’s availability report for last week’s win against Oregon State and only participated in the final two snaps during victory formation. The Indiana transfer, who was anticipated to start at right guard, could play a more significant role in next week’s game against UCLA.
The team’s first bye week of the season, highlighting the status of offensive guard Matthew Bedford, who has been dealing with a left knee injury. Although Bedford was absent from the player availability report for the recent win against Oregon State, he contributed during the final two snaps, suggesting he may be nearing full recovery.
Bedford, a transfer from Indiana, was expected to start at right guard, and his return could significantly strengthen the offensive line against UCLA next week.
Additionally, receiver Gary Bryant Jr. is recovering from a lower leg injury, and while details are limited, his presence would bolster the receiving corps.
