After a lackluster start to the season, Oregon football found its rhythm in Week 3 with a commanding win over rival Oregon State in the Civil War.
The offensive line, criticized for its struggles in narrow wins against Idaho and Boise State, bounced back with a strong showing. Quarterback Dillon Gabriel, who had been sacked seven times in the first two games, faced no sacks on Saturday, and the Ducks rushed for 240 yards, averaging 7.5 yards per carry.
Oregon’s offensive line could also be getting healthier soon. Guard Matthew Bedford, a transfer from Indiana, is close to returning after suffering an injury during fall camp, according to Zachary Neel of Ducks Wire.
“This week and next week will be a great opportunity to see if Bedford can return,” said head coach Dan Lanning, as reported by Neel.
With a bye in Week 4, Bedford has additional time to recover before Oregon starts Big Ten play on Sept. 28 at the Rose Bowl against UCLA.
