Ohio State’s Top QB Recruit Sidelined by Crushing Injury in High-Stakes Week 5 Battle
LEWISTOWN, Ohio — Ohio State five-star quarterback recruit Tavien St. Clair suffered an apparent knee injury just before halftime during his Week 5 matchup at Indian Lake High School on Friday night.
The incident occurred midway through the second quarter when St. Clair, the highly touted Bellefontaine quarterback, scrambled for extra yards and was brought down by a horse-collar tackle. As he hit the ground, he appeared to tweak his left knee. Despite the discomfort, St. Clair remained in the game, showcasing his resilience by finishing the drive and leading Bellefontaine to a touchdown, pushing their commanding lead to 28-0.
After the touchdown, however, St. Clair was seen limping as he made his way to the sideline. Coaches and medical staff quickly attended to him, and after a brief evaluation, the decision was made to hold him out for the rest of the game as a precaution. Although Bellefontaine secured a dominant win, the concern surrounding St. Clair’s injury loomed over the celebration.
Fans and teammates alike were hopeful as St. Clair was later seen on the sidelines walking without crutches. While his condition has yet to be officially diagnosed, early reports suggest that the injury might not be as serious as initially feared. Bellefontaine’s head coach emphasized the team’s cautious approach, stating, “Tavien is a warrior, but his long-term health is our priority. We’ll monitor his progress closely and make sure he gets the best care.”
With St. Clair being a crucial piece of Ohio State’s future, Buckeyes fans are anxiously awaiting further updates on his recovery. For now, the focus is on his health, with hopes that this setback will only be a minor bump in what is expected to be a promising career.
