Both Alabama and Georgia have wrapped up their BYE weeks and are now fully focused on preparing for their highly anticipated clash this Saturday.
Both teams, ranked in the Top 5, have strong odds not only to secure a spot in the new 12-team playoff but also to contend for the national championship.
Social media has been buzzing all week with rumors of high-profile celebrities attending the game in Tuscaloosa, including former President Donald Trump.
According to Charlie Potter, Kalen DeBoer addressed the media on Monday about the distractions the team will face, not only due to the magnitude of the game but also with the presence of celebrities and ESPN’s College GameDay.
“The main goal is for the players to be ready to play their best game of the year. I challenged them to play the best football of their careers,” DeBoer said. He also touched on Alabama being labeled as the underdog for this pivotal matchup, which marks the first time Alabama has been a home underdog since 2007 when they defeated Tennessee 41-17.
“Even if there’s just one doubter, it aligns with the LANK mentality,” DeBoer added.
Like Nick Saban during his tenure at Alabama, DeBoer is determined to silence doubters. By blocking out distractions and preparing thoroughly, Alabama has a chance to show the world who they truly are.
