Chris Canty Declares Giants Brian Daboll ‘On the Hot Seat’ After Disappointing Season Start
The New York Giants have started the season 1-3, missing a chance to surpass the Dallas Cowboys on Thursday night. While quarterback Daniel Jones had a decent performance, the Giants managed just 26 rushing yards on 24 attempts and relied on five field goals from Greg Joseph. This came just 10 days after a frustrating game in which they kicked six field goals but failed to score a touchdown in a loss to the Washington Commanders.
Chris Canty Declares Giants Expectations for the this season were low, and so far, they haven’t shown much promise. Jones doesn’t seem to be the long-term solution at quarterback, and with each defeat, head coach Brian Daboll’s reputation takes a hit. Daboll currently holds a 16-21 record, and calls for a change in leadership are growing louder.
"[Brian Daboll] is toast. He's done. He's the biggest loser coming out of last night. … Daniel Jones has a better chance of being back next year than Brian Daboll does."

ESPN’s Chris Canty believes Daboll’s time is up, stating, “Brian Daboll is toast. He’s done. He’s the biggest loser coming out of last night. … Daniel Jones has a better chance of being back next year than Brian Daboll does.”
That’s a bold statement, especially with 13 games remaining and a chance for the Giants to improve. While pushing for a .500 record might not be out of reach, Daboll still has time to show progress. To be clear, he’s not the only issue the team faces.
