LA Lakers Top Prominent Starter suffers severe lower body injury
After the session, Redick shared insights on their activities and overall performance. “We played some live basketball for about 45 minutes. For the scrimmage, we had three short quarters of 5-on-5, and I liked a lot of what we saw,” he said.
However, the team is facing some injury issues as camp begins. Redick mentioned that Cam Reddish and Jordan Goodwin were among those unable to participate in the scrimmages. “Cam Reddish was not available. We also had Jordan Goodwin with a slight hamstring tweak, but he should be back next week. He missed the first few days of camp, but he was impressive during our September workouts and will join us soon.”
The Lakers later clarified that Reddish is dealing with ankle soreness but was able to take part in some segments of practice, according to ESPN’s Dave McMenamin.

Goodwin is expected to miss about a week, but Reddish’s ankle soreness appears to be less serious, and he should return to full participation soon. With the Lakers set to begin their preseason on Friday, his status will be important to watch as the game approaches.
Given that Reddish missed much of the second half of last season due to an ankle injury, it’s a bit concerning that he’s already experiencing soreness on the first day of camp.
