Just In: Florida Eyes New Edge Rusher, Exciting Offer Details Revealed
Tim Griffin, a 2025 edge rusher from Covington (GA) Alcovy, has had a whirlwind month on the recruiting front, recently adding offers from prominent programs such as Alabama, Notre Dame, Florida, Cincinnati, and Tennessee Chattanooga. The Gators officially entered the fray last Friday, showing keen interest in Griffin since his senior highlights began making waves. They even hosted him for an unofficial visit during their game against Texas A&M, a gesture that highlighted their intent.
Just under a week after his visit, Griffin had a conversation with Florida’s defensive line coach, Gerald Chatman, where he received the exciting news about the offer. “When I visited for their last home game, they didn’t mention anything about an offer, but they told me I was on their radar,” Griffin explained. “They loved the film I had as a senior but wanted to see more from me during the season. I knew I had to keep trying my best in the other games I have this season, and after a really good game last Thursday, I feel like they recognized my potential. I’m thankful for the coaching staff and the recruiting coordinators; I think Florida is a great place.”
Looking ahead, the Florida Gators will host their next home game against the Kentucky Wildcats on October 19. This night matchup will take place under the lights at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium, promising to be an exciting SEC clash. Notably, this game will also mark the first weekend the Florida staff welcomes official visitors to campus this fall.
Among those expected to attend is Jahari Medlock, a three-star offensive lineman from Riverdale (GA) Charles Drew, who is currently committed to Cincinnati. His visit adds another layer of excitement to the weekend as the Gators look to build their 2025 recruiting class. With Griffin and other key targets in the mix, Florida is poised to strengthen its program for the future.
