Steelers top starter struggles with lower body injury
Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker Patrick Queen had a standout performance in their 32-13 victory over the Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday, recording a season-high 13 tackles despite facing some challenges.
In the second half, just before T.J. Watt forced a fumble, Queen hyperextended his knee during a crucial second-and-goal situation. The Raiders were in a hurry-up offense when Watt made his play at the goal line.
Despite being injured, Queen pushed through the pain and managed to disrupt Raiders running back Ameer Abdullah, allowing Watt to make the play.
“I actually hyperextended my knee right there,” Queen stated. “I just had to tough it out and put the injury aside. That helped us make a play.”

Without Queen’s contribution, that moment could have resulted in a touchdown for the Raiders. This game highlighted the Steelers’ cohesive team defense, reminiscent of their earlier performances rather than the last two games before facing the Raiders.
Queen had struggled to make impactful plays in the first five games, but in Week 6, he stepped up and began to deliver the kind of dynamic play the Steelers hoped for when they signed him.
