Panthers Pounce on Potential Exciting Roster Move Ahead

The Carolina Panthers have had a tough start to the 2024 NFL season, sitting at 1-5 as they approach Week 7, leaving fans with little to cheer about.

However, the team has just made a roster move that could pave the way for one of their promising young talents to make his NFL debut soon.

Panthers exec: Jonathon Brooks 'by far' our top prospect at 46th pick

The Panthers have officially designated rookie running back Jonathon Brooks to return from the non-football injury list, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter. Brooks has missed the entire season so far as he recovers from ACL surgery.

This move follows Panthers coach Dave Canales’ statement on Tuesday that the team intended to open Brooks’ 21-day practice window this week, as reported by ESPN’s Dave Newton.

“He’s checked all the boxes in terms of getting back to be able to practice,” Canales noted.

What will Jonathon Brooks add to the Panthers offense?

Brooks now has 21 days to demonstrate he deserves a spot on the active roster. In the meantime, the Panthers will continue to rely on Chuba Hubbard in the running game.

Jonathon Brooks is one of the most exciting players on the Panthers roster, even though he hasn’t yet taken an NFL snap.

Brooks will give the Panthers offense a dependable runner with impressive speed. His soft hands allow him to contribute on all three downs, making him a strong candidate to be Carolina’s RB1 when he’s healthy and a key piece of their offensive strategy.

Panthers fans are excited to see Brooks in action, and they won’t have to wait much longer, as he is expected to be active by November.
