Texas Rangers Detain Suspect Found Guilty in Randall County Inmate Murder
AMARILLO, Texas (KFDA) – The Texas Rangers are looking into the death of an inmate at Randall County Jail.
Officials reported that on Wednesday, October 16, around 4:30 a.m., Bryan Fields was found unresponsive in his cell.
Correctional officers quickly began life-saving measures.
Emergency Medical Services arrived shortly after and continued attempts to revive him.
Despite these efforts, Fields was pronounced dead.
He had been booked into Randall County Jail on March 16, 2023, on stalking charges.
On July 14, 2023, additional charges were added, including one count of assault on a public servant and two counts of harassment related to a correctional facility.
Officials noted that the assault charge was dismissed on August 31, 2023.
The Texas Rangers are continuing their investigation into this incident.
