“My feeling was that Quinn seemed a bit uneasy, so I thought it might help him to step back and regroup,” Sarkisian explained. “We didn’t know how long we’d go with Arch, so we told Quinn, ‘We’re going with Arch for now. Take this time to regroup, and we’ll get back to you in the second half.’”
This week, the No. 5 Texas Longhorns will head to Nashville to face the No. 25 Vanderbilt Commodores.

Nothing positive came from Texas football’s recent game. Since the loss to Georgia, there has been a flurry of negative headlines, including fines and official statements from school officials. The only aspect the Longhorns can control is their performance on the field.
Blaming individuals for a loss against a tough opponent mid-season doesn’t lead to progress. Texas is still in contention for the College Football Playoff and can determine their own fate. Whether Manning should start over Ewers will be decided on the field, and Sarkisian should be in tune with the desires of both coaches and players.
Ewers has proven himself over the past three seasons, having played 27 games for the Longhorns, which carries weight. If Manning were truly that special, he would have sparked the offense immediately upon entering. Therefore, Ewers should keep his starting role until he loses it through performance, not because of fan or media pressure.
