NY Jets QB Another Injury Sparks
Aaron Rodgers has been working hard to guide the New York Jets to victory, especially with the recent addition of wide receiver Davante Adams. However, his efforts have been hampered by a series of injuries, and now he’s facing another setback. Alongside ongoing ankle and knee issues, Rodgers has developed a hamstring injury that reportedly affected his mobility during the Week 7 matchup against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Interim head coach Jeff Ulbrich confirmed, “It is new. Something that kinda flared up this past game. They’re gonna assess it all week long, he’s gonna treat his butt off like he always does, and I don’t anticipate this affecting him in playing.” Despite the injury challenges, it seems Rodgers is determined to keep playing, potentially landing him on the injury report for the remainder of the season.
Following the loss to the Steelers, Rodgers appeared on the Pat McAfee Show to discuss the Jets’ path to improvement. He highlighted the team’s reliance on defense over the years, stating, “In New York, good, bad, or indifferent, it’s been win with defense.” He reflected on past games where the defense performed well but the offense struggled, emphasizing the need for a shift in mindset.
Rodgers urged his teammates to adopt a more offensive mentality: “Let’s not hang around and wait for the defense to get us a stop… Let’s go win it on offense.” With the Jets currently at 2-5, they’ll need this offensive focus as they prepare to face the New England Patriots in Week 8. The pressure is on, but with Rodgers leading the charge, hope remains alive for a turnaround.
