Raiders’ top wide receiver is expected to make his comeback from an ankle injury against the Kansas City Chiefs.
The Las Vegas Raiders are struggling in the 2024 season, sitting at 2-5 as they head into Week 8. Their outlook has worsened after trading Davante Adams. However, they are expected to welcome back one of their offensive assets this week after a brief injury absence.
Wide receiver Jakobi Meyers is anticipated to play on Sunday against the Chiefs, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport. He is listed as questionable due to an ankle injury that sidelined him for two weeks.
With their offense in need of support, Meyers’ return is a positive development. His presence bolsters the receiving corps, which includes Tre Tucker and DJ Turner in the starting lineup.
Despite his recent injury, Meyers has had a solid season, recording 25 receptions for 273 yards and one touchdown over five games.
Raiders star Maxx Crosby’s fighting words’ about Jerod Mayo calling Patriots ‘soft
Don’t worry, Raiders fans—Maxx Crosby is here to stay.
This is great news for the Raiders, as Crosby has become the most crucial player in the organization. He not only stands out for his talent but also serves as a vocal leader who advocates for his teammates. It seems he extends that defense to players on other teams as well.
Crosby made his stance clear regarding Patriots coach Jerod Mayo, who previously labeled his team as ‘soft’ due to their losing streak. This comment didn’t sit well with Crosby.
“Man, that’s not okay,” Crosby said, as reported by Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk. “He’s a player and has been around it. If that’s how he feels, that’s on him. But I wouldn’t take it lightly. I’d have a major problem with another grown man calling me soft. Those are fighting words.”
Crosby was particularly frustrated because Mayo is a former player who should recognize that coaches shouldn’t label their teams as soft, regardless of their performance.
It’s reassuring to know that Crosby will stand up against any unfairness within the Raiders organization moving forward.
