Bears star defender makes roster after serious setback. On Saturday, the Bears activated tackle Larry Borom from injured reserve and promoted tackle Jake Curhan and cornerback Reddy Steward from the practice squad to the 53-man roster ahead of their game against the Cardinals on Sunday.
Borom hasn’t played this season after injuring his ankle in the preseason finale against the Chiefs. The 2021 fifth-round pick out of Missouri has appeared in 39 games with 23 starts during his first three seasons with the Bears.

Curhan joined the Bears this year after three seasons with the Seahawks, where he played in 29 games and started nine. His offensive coordinator in Seattle was Shane Waldron, who is now in the same position with the Bears.
Steward signed with the Bears in May as an undrafted free agent from Troy and impressed in the preseason finale against Kansas City, where he recorded two interceptions, including one returned for a touchdown.
