With the San Francisco 49ers coming off their Week 9 bye and little to worry about aside from hoping for fewer injuries and a quiet NFL trade deadline, it’s the perfect time to shift focus from the standings and start thinking about potential 2025 NFL Draft prospects.
While we touched on a few candidates during the preseason, both the draft order and available players have evolved since then.
So, let’s take a fresh look at what the 49ers might do if the draft were to take place right after the trade deadline. For simplicity, we’ll base this on the current draft order, starting with their pick at No. 17 and working through the additional selections they hold.
49ers pre-trade deadline 2025 mock NFL Draft
Pick No. 17: Emery Jones, Offensive Tackle, LSU
Emery Jones, a powerful offensive tackle with a basketball background, could be a key addition for the 49ers. Although he’s primarily played right tackle, his 6-foot-6, 322-pound frame suggests he could make an impact on the left side as well, especially given his size and athleticism. The 49ers still have questions to answer on the offensive line, and addressing tackle early in the draft would be a smart move.
Pick No. 48: Seth McLaughlin, Center, Ohio State
The 49ers double down on offensive line help with Seth McLaughlin, a reliable center out of Ohio State. At 6-foot-4, 295 pounds, McLaughlin is a steady blocker with experience against top-tier defenses. While he may need to bulk up for the NFL, his ability to step in and contribute right away makes him an ideal Day 2 pick.
Pick No. 79: Sai’vion Jones, EDGE, LSU
Sai’vion Jones is a rising EDGE prospect who could make an immediate impact on the 49ers’ defensive line. At 6-foot-6 and 268 pounds, Jones has shown flashes of brilliance with 4.5 sacks and two forced fumbles. While the 49ers already have a solid pass rush, depth behind Nick Bosa and Leonard Floyd is needed, and Jones offers a promising long-term backup option.
Pick No. 101: Tacario Davis, Cornerback, Arizona
With the emergence of Renardo Green, the 49ers may still want to add depth to their cornerback group, and Tacario Davis could be a great fit. Standing at 6-foot-4 and 195 pounds, Davis has the size to match up with physical wide receivers, though questions about his speed against NFL-caliber receivers remain. His strong season with 20 solo tackles and five passes defended make him a solid pick late in Day 2.
Pick No. 115: Luke Lachey, Tight End, Iowa
Luke Lachey, another product from Iowa’s tight end factory, could be a potential heir to George Kittle’s throne. Lachey has 24 receptions for 209 yards this season and stands at 6-foot-6, 253 pounds, giving him the size and potential for mismatches in the passing game. While he may not be as polished as Kittle was in college, Lachey has the tools to develop into a valuable contributor.
Pick No. 138: Armand Membou, Offensive Tackle, Missouri
At 6-foot-3 and 314 pounds, Armand Membou is a solid offensive tackle for Missouri who could offer the 49ers depth on the line. Though slightly undersized for a tackle, he could also transition to guard. With offensive line depth a priority for the 49ers, Membou provides a dependable option to bolster the front.
Pick No. 192: Eric Gregory, Defensive Tackle, Arkansas
If the 49ers are looking to add depth to their defensive line, Eric Gregory could be an intriguing late-round target. At 6-foot-3, 299 pounds, Gregory is not the biggest defensive tackle but has been effective for Arkansas with three sacks and five tackles for loss. He could be a valuable situational pass rusher on the interior.
Pick No. 234: Malachi Moore, Safety, Alabama
With Talanoa Hufanga’s injury history, the 49ers could look to add another safety, and Malachi Moore might be an ideal fit. At 6-foot-0, 190 pounds, Moore has solid athleticism and has recorded two interceptions and five passes defended this season. He may not have lived up to the early hype of his freshman year, but Moore still offers upside as a developmental prospect.
Pick No. 247: Nay’Quan Wright, Running Back, South Florida
Nay’Quan Wright could be a change-of-pace back for the 49ers, offering depth behind their current running backs. Standing at 5-foot-9 and 196 pounds, Wright has been productive for South Florida with 379 rushing yards at 5.1 yards per carry, as well as 13 receptions. He brings versatility and could contribute in multiple roles.
Pick No. 249: Easton Mascarenas-Arnold, Linebacker, USC
Easton Mascarenas-Arnold is a linebacker who could add depth to the 49ers’ defense. Despite being a bit shorter at 5-foot-11, 232 pounds, he has been effective for USC with 67 tackles, two sacks, and two interceptions. Mascarenas-Arnold is a sleeper prospect who could provide valuable contributions on special teams and in a backup role.
Pick No. 255: Isaiah Neyor, Wide Receiver, Nebraska
Isaiah Neyor, a 6-foot-3, 210-pound receiver from Nebraska, could be an intriguing late-round pick for the 49ers. After a breakout season at Wyoming in 2021, Neyor battled an ACL injury in 2022 before transferring to Nebraska. He has shown flashes of his potential this season, with 21 receptions for 319 yards and four touchdowns. His size and experience make him a worthy gamble in the final round of the draft.
