Flyers Sign Star Defenseman on a Lucrative Contract. The Philadelphia Flyers announced today that they have signed goaltender Kyle Konin to an amateur tryout, according to General Manager Daniel Briere. Aleksei Kolosov will not be in the lineup tonight due to a lower body injury and is considered day-to-day.
Konin, who has served as an emergency backup for the Tampa Bay Lightning, has appeared in two NHL games as a backup—most recently for Tampa Bay on April 1, 2024, and previously for St. Louis on December 2, 2021. He played college hockey at Grand Valley State University from 2019 to 2020.
Flyers goaltender Ivan Fedotov is expected to start Thursday’s game in Tampa.
