Top Offense Star Commit Recaps Notre Dame Return

Earlier this month, Antavious Richardson returned to Notre Dame for the first time since committing to the Irish as a 2025 Georgia receiver.

“It was great visiting with my future teammates and experiencing the atmosphere,” said Richardson, a standout from Greenville High School. “It was a great time.”

The aspect that left the biggest impression on Richardson during his initial visit to South Bend in September was the same thing that stood out to him on this return.

“It’s the people,” he shared. “It was a nice time; The Walk and the nighttime environment. It was just a great overall experience.”

The 6-foot-2, 170-pounder relished the chance to revisit campus, knowing it’s where he’ll be spending the next few years.

“Honestly, knowing I’m going there, the interactions feel different. It feels like home to me,” he said.

Meeting more of his future teammates was also a key highlight for Richardson.

“It was great,” he said. “Being a future Notre Dame player, it was awesome getting to know them. We had great conversations and bonded as a team throughout the day. As we talked more, we started discussing football and our shared future at Notre Dame. It was an overall great experience with the other commits.”

Richardson believes early bonding with teammates is crucial for team chemistry.

“In my opinion, the more we bond now, the better the team chemistry will be,” he explained. “We’re already connecting with people we’ll be with in our class. Some people might not meet until they get to campus, but we’re meeting now, and it’s creating early chemistry and brotherhood.”

Richardson sees himself contributing to the offense, particularly with his speed.

“I feel like I fit mainly in the offense because of my speed,” he said. “That’s what they’re looking for me to bring to the table.”

With his high school career behind him, Richardson is focused on his college future.

“I’m an early enrollee, so I start on January 10th,” he said.

“It feels great to me. I’m excited to get a head start on studying, learning the plays, and getting into the weight room. I think it’s a great opportunity.”
