Michigan has extended an offer to 2025 five-star edge rusher commit Isaiah Gibson from Georgia.
The Michigan Wolverines are making a strong push to close out the 2025 recruiting cycle. After securing a commitment from five-star quarterback Bryce Underwood on Thursday evening, numerous highly ranked prospects are now considering Michigan as their potential destination.
The latest recruit to receive an offer from the Wolverines is five-star edge rusher Isaiah Gibson, a Georgia commit. Gibson, ranked as the No. 9 overall player and the top edge rusher in the class, shared the news on social media Friday afternoon. He has been committed to Georgia and head coach Kirby Smart since June, having previously visited Georgia, Ohio State, Tennessee, South Carolina, and Auburn. Standing 6-foot-4 and weighing 245 pounds, Gibson is known for his strong pass-rushing ability on the defensive line’s edge.
This marks a new approach for Michigan, which seems to be sparing no expense in its recruiting efforts. The Wolverines also “re-offered” five-star defensive lineman Jahkeem Stewart, the No. 16 overall recruit and No. 3 defensive lineman, on Thursday evening following Underwood’s commitment. These moves have sparked excitement, signaling a ripple effect that could benefit Michigan’s 2025 class and potentially future recruiting cycles as well.
247Sports’ Andrew Ivins scouted Gibson in February and shared insights on his skill set. Currently, Michigan has one edge rusher committed in the 2025 class—four-star Julius Holly—but the Wolverines are looking to add more talent to the position, so further developments are expected.
