The recruiting momentum kept rolling for head coach Dan Lanning and the top-ranked Oregon Ducks as five-star quarterback prospect Jaron-Keawe Sagapolutele, currently committed to California, listed Oregon as one of his final two schools ahead of Signing Day.
Although he committed to the Golden Bears on July 8, Sagapolutele visited Oregon’s campus in late October during the Ducks’ victory over then-No. 20 Illinois. A few weeks later, he also checked out Georgia, despite showing little interest in the SEC program.
According to 247Sports, Sagapolutele’s interest in the Ducks remains “cool,” even after reports (by On3) indicated Oregon was one of his final two choices.

During his junior year in 2023, Sagapolutele put up impressive numbers with 268 completions, 3,757 passing yards, and 37 touchdowns. However, his interception count is a concern, totaling 25 picks over his sophomore and junior seasons.
While he showed improvement in his rushing game, gaining 29 yards and 4 touchdowns in 2023, he’s still not considered a dual-threat quarterback like Oregon’s Bo Nix or Dillon Gabriel.
Sagapolutele had a second visit to Georgia planned but canceled it after narrowing his decision down to Oregon and California. National Signing Day for the 2025 class is set for February 5, 2025.
