Top DE prospect flips to the Gators, spurning Penn State for Florida!
The Florida Gators landed their 20th commitment for the Class of 2025 on Friday—and their fifth of the week—when defensive lineman Jayden Woods (6-3, 240) flipped from Penn State to Florida.
“God’s Plan,” Woods shared on Twitter.
Jayden Woods, who had been committed to Penn State since June, visited Gainesville last weekend and quickly put the Gators in serious contention.
Florida, in need of an edge rusher for the Class of 2025, has now landed one in Woods, who has racked up 13 sacks over the last two seasons.
Woods is no stranger to winning, as his team has claimed back-to-back state championships and is aiming for a third this year. Off the field, he excels in track and wrestling, having won a state title in both sports. Woods took home the state championship in discus and also clocked an impressive 11.90 in the 100-meter dash.
With the addition of Woods, the Gators have flipped five prospects this week alone, bolstering their defensive line class alongside Jalen Wiggins, Stephon Shivers, and Jeramiah McCloud.
Florida is now eyeing one more defensive lineman to complete the class, with options coming from either the high school ranks or potentially a transfer from the portal.
