The redshirt sophomore recorded 34 catches, 678 receiving yards, and three touchdowns this season over nine games, missing three due to injuries. Last year, after redshirting at Colorado, he had 47 receptions, 622 yards, and one touchdown in a full 12-game season.

Sowell has two years of eligibility remaining as he joins Winston Wright Jr. (who is out of eligibility) in leaving the receiving corps. In November, East Carolina extended an offer to Sowell’s younger brother, Hunter, who has not yet committed to a school.
