Oregon Ducks flip 5-star cornerback from Ohio State.
The Oregon Ducks not only triumphed over the Ohio State Buckeyes on the field, but they also secured a big victory in the recruiting battle.
On Wednesday morning, a 5-star cornerback Na’eem Offord announced he would be flipping his commitment from Ohio State to Oregon.
This is a significant win for the Ducks, who now boast four of the top 10 defensive backs in the 2025 class. The player in question is ranked as the No. 11 overall prospect for 2025 and the No. 2 cornerback.
In addition, Oregon also flipped 5-star quarterback Jaron-Keawe Sagapolutele from the California Golden Bears, sparking the excitement for the day.
Earlier on Wednesday, Oregon signed cornerback Brandon Finney, the No. 5 defensive back in the class, and they are also expecting 4-star Dorian Brew and 5-star Trey McNutt to sign today.
At 6-foot-1 and 185 pounds, Offord possesses an ideal build for a cornerback, and he will further strengthen the impressive depth that the Ducks have developed at that position in recent years.
The recruitment battle for Offord’s commitment had been primarily between Ohio State, Auburn, and Oregon over the past few weeks. While many had predicted Auburn would eventually sway him from the Buckeyes, it was Oregon that ultimately secured his commitment.
