Oklahoma Tight End Transfer Eyeing Auburn for Upcoming Visit
With the early signing period wrapped up, Auburn football is shifting its focus to the transfer portal for roster building.
Tight end is a key position of need for the Tigers, and they’re set to host Oklahoma transfer Bauer Sharp for a visit, according to multiple reports.
A Dothan native, Bauer Sharp spent the 2024 season at Oklahoma after beginning his career at Southeastern Louisiana. He emerged as the Sooners’ top receiver, racking up 42 catches for 324 yards and two touchdowns. Sharp also had a notable performance against Auburn, hauling in four receptions for 43 yards.
During his three seasons at Southeastern Louisiana, Bauer Sharp totaled 40 receptions for 366 yards and four touchdowns, after redshirting in his freshman year in 2021. He also contributed as a rusher, gaining 216 yards and scoring five touchdowns.
Auburn’s tight end group featured Rivaldo Fairweather and Luke Deal in 2024, but both are now out of eligibility. Additionally, the Tigers are expected to lose sophomore tight end Micah Riley, who announced his decision to enter the transfer portal on Sunday.
The Tigers added freshmen tight ends Ryan Ghea and Hollis Davidson during the early signing period, who will join returning players Brandon Frazier and Rico Lewis in the tight end room.
According to reports, Bauer Sharp is set to visit Auburn on Thursday. The transfer portal officially opens on Monday, Dec. 9.
