Sean McVay Shares Exciting Update on Two Key Rams Debuts

After their dramatic 44-42 win over the Buffalo Bills, the Los Angeles Rams quickly turn their focus to a critical division battle with the San Francisco 49ers on Thursday Night Football. A win would bring them closer to securing a playoff spot, while a loss would drop their record back to .500 with just three games left in the season.

Detroit Lions safety Kerby Joseph (31) breaks up a catch attempt by Los Angeles Rams tight end Tyler Higbee (89) during the second half of a 2024 NFC wild card game at Ford Field.

Given the importance of the game, the Rams are hoping to have all hands on deck, prompting head coach Sean McVay to address the possible 2024 debuts of Tyler Higbee and Emmanuel Forbes Jr., both of whom have yet to play this season. When asked about their chances of playing in Week 15, McVay was uncertain.

“It’s a good question. We’ll see on Higbee. I don’t have a great sense of it,” McVay said. He added that while the possibility of both players being active remains open, he didn’t expect to have any clear updates until after the game.

McVay further clarified that Higbee’s status is still uncertain, while Forbes’ chances of playing depend on the health of cornerback Cobie Durant. “If Cobie Durant’s status is affected, it could impact Emmanuel Forbes and how we approach things,” McVay noted. He also stressed that they don’t want to rush Higbee back if he’s not fully ready.

In summary, it’s unlikely Higbee will play in Week 15, but Forbes may be active, even if he’s only in a reserve role. With such a crucial game against the 49ers ahead, Rams fans will have to wait for McVay’s final decisions, as no updates will come before kickoff.
