With Drew Lock sidelined by a heel injury and sporting a walking boot, the New York Giants may turn to Tommy DeVito as their starting quarterback on Sunday as they aim to snap an eight-game losing streak against the Baltimore Ravens.
Head coach Brian Daboll revealed the injury update on Wednesday as the Giants (2-11) began preparations for their upcoming matchup against the Ravens (8-5) at MetLife Stadium. The Giants are still searching for their first home win of the season, having lost all seven games played on their home turf.
Lock sustained a heel injury last weekend during the Giants’ 14-11 loss to the Saints, a game in which he was sacked twice and hit 13 times.
Following practice, Tommy DeVito spoke about the team’s mindset amid the uncertainty. “You always got to be ready for whatever happens,” DeVito said. “Obviously, it’s been a little bit of a crazy situation this whole year with everything that’s gone on. So, there’s almost no surprises at this point. You just got to stay ready. Whoever’s out there, whatever number is going to be out there and ready to be called, we’re going to go out there and support them.”
