Dodgers to Land 2 Potential Blockbuster Trades in Stunning Move

The Los Angeles Dodgers are interested in re-signing All-Star outfielder Teoscar Hernández this offseason, but they are currently at an impasse in negotiations.

If Hernández ultimately signs with another team, the Dodgers will need to explore other options. According to Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic, the Dodgers are considering two trade targets from Chicago teams to potentially replace Hernández.

One option is Seiya Suzuki of the Chicago Cubs. The Japanese outfielder had a strong season, ranking in the top 10 in the National League in batting average (.283), slugging percentage (.482), OPS (.848), and triples (six). However, with the Cubs acquiring right fielder Kyle Tucker from the Houston Astros, Suzuki’s playing time could be reduced, and he might transition to a designated hitter role.

While Suzuki performed slightly better as a DH than in the outfield last season, it’s believed he may not want to take on that role full-time, making him open to a trade.

Another potential target is Luis Robert Jr. of the Chicago White Sox. Despite struggling with a hip flexor injury that sidelined him for two months and impacting his performance upon returning, Robert still had a solid 2023 season. He was named an All-Star and won a Silver Slugger after hitting a career-high 38 home runs and 80 RBIs.

While the White Sox don’t expect a significant return for Robert, they still seek a “meaningful piece” in exchange for the Gold Glove outfielder. Robert’s market could rise once Hernández and fellow free agent Anthony Santander sign their contracts.
