Auburn is reportedly preparing to part ways with offensive lineman Percy Lewis, just one year after bringing him to the team. According to CBS Sports’ Matt Zenitz and Chris Hummer of 247Sports, the towering 6-foot-7, 355-pound offensive tackle is set to re-enter the transfer portal.
If Lewis follows through with this move, the 2025 season would mark his third school in as many years, having transferred to Auburn from Mississippi State after the 2023 season.
Lewis left his home state after last season to join Auburn, but it seems the Sallis, Mississippi, native has now decided he wants to finish his college career elsewhere.
Lewis has had a varied collegiate journey, starting at Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College for the 2020 and 2021 seasons before transferring to Mississippi State. He spent the 2022 and 2023 seasons in Starkville before transferring to Auburn for the 2024 season. Thus, wherever he plays in 2025 will be his fourth school.
At Auburn, Lewis made a significant impact early in the 2024 season, starting five games at left tackle and logging 308 snaps, according to Pro Football Focus. However, he lost his starting role after playing just three snaps in the game against Missouri on October 19.
The senior would have been out of eligibility prior to the NCAA’s recent decision to grant an extra year of eligibility to seniors who had previously played at the JUCO level.
