The Patriots made several roster moves ahead of their Saturday game against the Chargers.
Cornerback Marcus Jones was declared out due to a hip injury on Thursday and was placed on injured reserve on Friday, ending his season.
He will miss Week 18 because of this move. Jones started nine games this season, recording 58 tackles, an interception, 10 pass defenses, and two fumble recoveries. Additionally, he caught one pass for 18 yards and averaged 14.6 yards per punt return.
Center Ben Brown (concussion) was also ruled out, with Cole Strange expected to start in his place.
The Patriots activated tackle Caedan Wallace (ankle) from injured reserve and promoted wide receiver Alex Erickson and linebacker Monty Rice from the practice squad.
