Quarter Back eyes Steelers return in 2025.

Justin Fields has faced a challenging yet educational season with the Pittsburgh Steelers. After starting the first six games, Fields experienced a reduced role, especially after a lower abdominal injury in Week 15, which sidelined him for the last two games. Despite this setback, he remains determined to return stronger next season.

Fields expressed his frustration with having to learn a new offense every year, stating this would be his third in four seasons. Yet, he’s optimistic about his future with the Steelers, highlighting his desire to stay with the team. Fields had a solid start to the season, leading the Steelers to a 4-2 record, showcasing both his passing and rushing ability. His best performances came in a loss to the Indianapolis Colts and a win over the Los Angeles Chargers. However, after Russell Wilson took over as the starter in Week 7, Fields’ role became more limited, with him playing sparingly in special packages.

Despite not starting, Fields embraced the opportunity to learn from Wilson, a veteran quarterback with over a decade of experience. Fields credits Wilson for providing valuable insight, which he continues to apply in his own development. Fields also acknowledges the importance of growth, both in terms of his physical skills and understanding of the game.

Looking ahead, Fields is confident that his best is yet to come. Although his rushing ability has been somewhat stymied this season compared to his 2022 performance, where he set a rushing record for quarterbacks, he believes he still has untapped potential as both a passer and a runner. Fields’ focus now is on improving and proving himself in the NFL, with an eye on a more prominent role next season.
