Top Prospect Ditches Georgia for Florida in Bold Transfer Move!
Florida football lands a major transfer commitment as former UAB safety Adrian Maddox switches gears. After initially planning to join Georgia, Maddox has had a change of heart, per ESPN.
Florida football adds a significant boost to its defense with the commitment of former UAB safety Adrian Maddox. Coming off a strong 2024 season with the Blazers, where he recorded 44 tackles, Maddox will be a key piece for head coach Billy Napier as he looks to push the Gators toward a College Football Playoff spot.
Maddox showcased his playmaking ability last season with a 99-yard interception touchdown, two forced fumbles, and seven passes defended, though UAB struggled to a 3-9 finish. Before his time at UAB, Maddox spent two seasons at Alabama State, posting 70 tackles, three sacks, and two interceptions.
The Gators, who finished 8-5 in 2024 and ended the season on a four-game winning streak—including a Gasparilla Bowl victory over Tulane—will be hoping Maddox’s addition strengthens their defensive backfield.
For Georgia, this is a tough blow as they work to rebuild their roster following a disappointing College Football Playoff quarterfinal loss to Notre Dame.
