Nebraska Secures 13-Game Alabama Starter from Transfer Portal!

Elijah Pritchett, a 6’6″, 330-pound offensive tackle who started all 13 games for Alabama this season, is transferring to Nebraska. With two years of eligibility left, Pritchett was one of the top tackle prospects in the portal, making him a major addition to Matt Rhule’s squad. His commitment comes as Nebraska looks to build on a promising 7-6 season, capped by a 20-15 Pinstripe Bowl win over Boston College.

Excitement is building around Nebraska, especially with quarterback Dylan Raiola, who is regarded as a high-potential talent. The Cornhuskers began the season strong with a 5-1 record but stumbled to a 1-5 finish, ending the regular season at 6-6. Despite securing bowl eligibility, Nebraska is eager to improve in Big Ten play in the coming years. Elijah Pritchett’s arrival should be a key factor in boosting the team’s performance moving forward.

Elijah Pritchett is eager to elevate his game in a new environment. This season, he posted a 46.9 PFF grade across 619 snaps. A five-star recruit out of Columbus, Georgia, Pritchett was the No. 4 offensive tackle and No. 31 overall prospect in his recruiting class, according to 247Sports. As a transfer, he was ranked a four-star, the 42nd overall player, and the No. 4 tackle. With such pedigree, there’s plenty of hope that a change of scenery could lead to improved performance.

It will be fascinating to see how Pritchett adapts at Nebraska and whether he can help quarterback Dylan Raiola and head coach Matt Rhule achieve greater success in Big Ten play in 2025. The expectation is that year three under Rhule will bring continued progress, and Pritchett is poised to be a key piece of that growth.
