New Addition Joins Boston Bruins Coaching Staff!

It was only a matter of time before Marc Habscheid made the jump to the NHL, and now it’s official. The Wymark native has joined the Boston Bruins as an Associate Coach, a move announced on Thursday.

Habscheid’s rise in the hockey world has been a steady one, with a coaching career that began in the SJHL with Melfort. He then took his talents to the WHL, coaching both Kamloops and Kelowna. Most recently, he spent two years with Hockey Canada, gaining valuable experience before securing his spot with the Bruins.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Known for his leadership, Habscheid interviewed for head coaching positions with the Vancouver Canucks, New Jersey Devils, and Boston Bruins before accepting the associate coaching role. In his new position, he’ll work alongside newly appointed head coach Dave Lewis to guide the Bruins in their pursuit of success.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

This appointment marks a significant achievement for Habscheid, who has long been a prominent figure in the hockey community. Despite the big move, Habscheid remains closely tied to his roots in the Southwest. In fact, he’s scheduled to return home soon to co-host a charity golf tournament with Nancy Harvey, set to take place in two weeks at Elmwood.

With his wealth of experience and leadership, Marc Habscheid is poised to make an impact in Boston, and fans are eager to see what he brings to the Bruins.
