Dolphins Offensive Star Makes Bold Move for AFC Powerhouse This Offseason

The Kansas City Chiefs are set to face the Houston Texans in the Division Round on Saturday night. While this is the biggest game of the Chiefs’ season up to this point, Kansas City fans can still take a moment to look ahead to the upcoming offseason.

As the playoff field narrows, NFL analysts are busy making various offseason predictions. Maurice Moton of Bleacher Report is the latest to offer his 2025 offseason forecast, which includes a surprising prediction involving a former fan-favorite Chief joining one of the team’s biggest AFC rivals.

With trade rumors swirling after the regular season, Moton predicts that the Miami Dolphins will trade former Chiefs wide receiver Tyreek Hill to the Baltimore Ravens this offseason. Given that Baltimore is one of Kansas City’s biggest rivals in the AFC, adding a player of Hill’s caliber would be a significant move for them.

“If the Ravens traded for Hill this offseason, they’d field an offense that terrifies opponents,” Moton wrote. “With Derrick Henry’s power on the ground, Hill’s speed on the perimeter, and (Lamar) Jackson’s dynamic playmaking ability, they’d be nearly impossible to stop.”

Speculation about Hill’s future began in Week 18 when he expressed frustration with the Dolphins’ playoff absence, marking the first time in his nine-year career that he wouldn’t be participating in postseason football.

“I’m opening the door. I’m out, bro,” Hill said to reporters on January 5. “It was great playing (in Miami), but at the end of the day, bro, I gotta do what’s best for my career. I’m too much of a competitor to just be out there.”

Hill was traded from the Chiefs to the Dolphins in March 2022 after six seasons in Kansas City. Although he has remained one of the NFL’s top receivers in Miami, his 2024 season was a dip in production, with his fewest receiving yards (959) and touchdowns (6) since his rookie year.

Hill enters the offseason with 11,098 yards, 82 touchdowns, and 798 catches over 141 career games.

Although the Dolphins made the playoffs in Hill’s first two seasons with the team, they were eliminated in the Wild Card Round both times. Now that he’s sitting out the postseason for the first time, it’s no surprise that the eight-time Pro Bowl wide receiver is looking to play elsewhere in 2025.

The Ravens, with one of the most potent offenses in the league, would provide Hill a strong opportunity to bounce back. While Zay Flowers and Rashod Bateman are reliable receivers, there weren’t any other Baltimore wideouts who surpassed 300 yards during the regular season.

Spotrac reports that the Ravens have around $22.6 million in available cap space this offseason. Although that amount falls short of covering Hill’s $28.6 million salary for 2025, the two sides could make it work if Hill is willing to restructure his contract.

If Hill does get traded, ideally it would be to an NFC team that the Chiefs won’t have to face. The Ravens are already a formidable opponent, and adding Hill would only make them a bigger challenge for Andy Reid & Co.
