Nebraska Cornhuskers Make Big Move for 4-Star Melbourne Top Talent

Earlier this month, Nebraska football extended several scholarship offers to high school recruits, one of which went to 2026 four-star safety Xavier Lherisse.

The 5-10, 185-pound athlete from Melbourne, Florida, is ranked as the No. 29 safety and the 346th overall prospect in the country by 247Sports Composite. He’s also ranked No. 56 in Florida.

Lherisse, who has received offers from programs like Miami, Georgia, and Clemson, spoke with HuskerMax about his Nebraska offer.

“I’m really grateful to have received this offer. It’s one I’ve been waiting for, so it feels great to finally have it and begin building a relationship with the coaches,” Lherisse shared.

The offer came from defensive backs coach Addison Williams, one of the new members of the Husker staff.

Coach Williams offered me, and it feels great because he was recruiting me when he was at UCF, so it’s nice to already have that connection with one of the coaches,” Lherisse explained.

Regarding his visit and commitment plans, Lherisse is in the process of finalizing both.

“I definitely plan on visiting. I know Nebraska has a lot to offer, so it’s definitely a place I want to consider,” he said. “I don’t have a set timeline for when I’ll commit, but I’ve been narrowing things down, so it could happen soon.”
