Vikings Take Charge in 2025 Draft with Top Interior O-Line Prospect

The Minnesota Vikings have several key needs as they head into the offseason, with free agency expected to address most of them, particularly at cornerback, safety, and defensive line.

One intriguing aspect for the Vikings, however, is how they will approach strengthening the offensive line. After the Wild Card game against the Los Angeles Rams, head coach Kevin O’Connell emphasized the need for improvements in that area, while general manager Kwesi Adofo-Mensah offered a vague response.

Given the uncertainty around the Vikings’ approach to the offensive line, the idea of drafting one in the first round makes sense. In his latest mock draft, Ryan Roberts of A to Z Sports has the Vikings selecting Alabama guard Tyler Booker.

Booker is a force on the interior, a massive and powerful presence. With a strong grip and a solid base, he’s tough to move in the trenches.

However, Booker’s lack of quickness and inconsistent footwork raise some concerns. He doesn’t move well in space, which could be a challenge for the Vikings, especially considering their preference for outside zone runs.

Would Booker be the right fit? It’s a tough call, particularly with the team’s focus on outside running schemes.
