College football wrapped up with the Big Ten securing back-to-back championships. Following their win over Virginia Tech in the Duke’s Mayo Bowl, the Minnesota Gophers shifted their focus to 2025. They’ll also have strong representation in some top all-star games.

The Senior Bowl and East-West Shrine Bowl are widely regarded as the top platforms for players aiming to take their talents to the next level. Now, Minnesota will be sending a new player to Texas for the events.

After three years at Bucknell, Ethan Robinson transferred to the Gophers with hopes of making an impact at the Power 5 level. He had a standout season, earning him a spot in the East-West Shrine Bowl and increasing his chances of being featured in the draft.

Robinson played in 13 games for the Gophers this season, recording 29 tackles, including three for a loss. He also intercepted three passes, deflected eight others, and contributed with both a forced and recovered fumble.

Despite the Gophers’ loss to Michigan, Robinson’s interception helped keep the game close. However, a controversial onside kick decision took away a chance for the offense to make a comeback.

Minnesota will have several players representing the Gophers at the Shrine Bowl, with Robinson joining teammate Tyler Cooper on the East roster. He’ll also face off against Max Brosmer, the quarterback he’s seen in practice all year, who is on the West roster.

The Shrine Bowl is scheduled for January 30, 2025, at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, the home of the Dallas Cowboys.
