Texas Longhorns Score Big with 4-Star In-State Offensive Tackle Commitment!
The Texas Longhorns, fresh off a No. 1 recruiting class in the 2025 cycle, are already making waves in the 2026 class.
According to On3’s Hayes Fawcett, the Longhorns have secured a commitment from 2026 four-star offensive tackle Maximus Wright from Melissa, TX. The 6-foot-7, 290-pound prospect chose Texas over Michigan and SMU, giving the Longhorns another major win in their recruitment efforts.
Maximus Wright, who currently holds 22 total offers, including from Texas, Arizona State, Arkansas, Baylor, Florida, Michigan, SMU, TCU, Texas Tech, and Kansas State, is highly sought after.
Rivals.com ranks him as a four-star recruit, listing him as the No. 125 player nationally, No. 18 in Texas, and the No. 13 offensive tackle in the country. Meanwhile, the 247Sports Composite Ranking places him as a three-star recruit, ranking No. 33 among offensive tackles and No. 55 in the state of Texas, with a national ranking of No. 409.
Maximus Wright made several visits to the 40 Acres before committing, including one as recent as January 25. He also has his official visit scheduled for June 20th this summer.
With his commitment, Wright becomes part of a 2026 class currently ranked No. 8 nationally according to On3, joining top recruits like five-star QB Dial Bell and four-star receiver Chris Stewart.
