Mets lock in First Baseman with a powerhouse two-year, $54 million deal!
After months of free agency talks, Pete Alonso is reportedly staying with the New York Mets. The All-Star first baseman has agreed to a two-year, $54 million deal, according to multiple sources.

Alonso will earn $30 million this year, including a $10 million signing bonus, and will have a player option for $24 million in 2026. The Mets reportedly offered him a three-year, $71 million contract, but Alonso chose the shorter deal.
Rejoining a revamped Mets lineup, which includes the high-profile signing of Juan Soto, Alonso returns after a 2023 season where he hit 46 homers and drove in 118 RBIs. Though his power dipped a bit last year, he still had a strong playoff performance, helping the Mets reach the NLCS.
With 226 career homers and 586 RBIs over his first six seasons, Alonso remains one of the game’s premier power hitters.
