The Kansas City Chiefs have signed former Pittsburgh Steelers cornerback Darius Rush to a reserve/future contract. Rush spent most of the season on the Chiefs’ practice squad and didn’t see game action for the team.

Rush was released by the Steelers in October, which allowed him to join Kansas City. Originally placed on the active roster, his rough preseason led the Chiefs to look elsewhere for help, ultimately finding what they needed in James Pierre.
A 2023 fourth-round pick by the Indianapolis Colts out of South Carolina, Rush was waived by the Colts after training camp. The Chiefs then claimed him off waivers, and the Steelers later signed him in 2023.
With Pittsburgh, Rush played as a dimebacker in his NFL debut against the Tennessee Titans, recording 21 snaps. He began the season as a starting gunner but lost the role after competition from Pierre.
