The New York Jets are facing uncertainty at quarterback.
Recent reports suggest the Jets are planning to part ways with Aaron Rodgers, despite his future Hall of Fame status, in favor of a new direction. With Tyrod Taylor signed for the 2025 season, the question remains: will he be the team’s starting quarterback?
While it’s a possibility, the Jets still have time to explore other options, with free agency and the NFL Draft around the corner. With the Super Bowl now behind us, mock drafts are starting to surface.
Holding the No. 7 pick, the Jets may not have a high enough spot to grab one of the top two quarterbacks in this draft class. In his Monday mock draft, NFL.com’s Chad Reuter projects the Jets selecting Michigan defensive tackle Mason Graham at No. 7, then trading up to No. 31 to secure a potential QB of the future, Ole Miss quarterback Jaxson Dart.
Reuter predicts a trade with the Kansas City Chiefs, where the Jets would move up from No. 42 by sending a second-round pick along with a fourth-, fifth-, and sixth-round pick. Dart, known for his efficiency, smooth delivery, and solid mobility, is seen as a strong choice for New York.
Dart wrapped up the season with 4,279 passing yards, 29 touchdowns, six interceptions, and 495 rushing yards. The Jets could certainly do worse than bringing him on board, especially with a veteran like Taylor providing support.
