Recently, Kentucky has made a major push for Nate Ament, a 6-foot-9 power forward from Virginia, ranked as a five-star prospect and the No. 4 recruit in the 2025 class by 247Sports Composite. Ament, the highest-rated uncommitted player, is known for his versatile skill set, impressive physical attributes, and potential to be one of the best in his class.

Pope, who has followed Ament’s progress since his BYU days, offered him a scholarship in June, and Kentucky is now firmly in the running as Ament narrows down his options. His current list of top schools includes Kentucky, Arkansas, Duke, Louisville, Tennessee, and several others. Ament’s recruitment has seen several shifts, particularly after Kentucky missed out on five-star forward Caleb Wilson, which opened the door for a more intense push for Ament.

In recent weeks, Ament has had multiple visits with Kentucky, including an official visit just days after Pope made a trip to Virginia to watch Ament’s senior night. Kentucky’s renewed efforts have quickly made them a strong contender in the race for the prized recruit.
