Steelers Revamp QB Position with Game-Changing Deal

Could the Steelers Land Aaron Rodgers?

They shouldn’t—especially after the failed experiment with a past-his-prime legend in Russell Wilson. Why go for an even older, slower, and more temperamental diva like Rodgers?

Could the Steelers Pursue Trevor Lawrence?

It’d be a better move than Rodgers, but seriously, could you look me in the eye and honestly say he’d be a real upgrade from the quarterbacks we already have—especially in high-stakes postseason play against tougher teams? No, you can’t—because he wouldn’t be. This isn’t a knock on Lawrence, but there’s no need to chase someone who might not lead us to the promised land.

It’s frustrating that I even have to address these rumors because it shows the Steelers still aren’t thinking clearly. If they were, we’d already have our answer on who should lead this team next season: Justin Fields.

Justin Fields Deserves Better in the QB Debate

For those who’ve forgotten, Justin Fields was a steal for the Steelers. His addition was a bargain that could rival any thrift store deal, and the team was excited about it. In fact, he was our starter for the first six games of the season!

How did he perform? He went 4-2—not bad at all. We saw his potential as a dual-threat quarterback even during the losses, and he led the team to a blowout win over rival Las Vegas. In short, he was holding his own—so why was he benched in favor of Russell Wilson? That move caused a lot of controversy.

Wilson’s time as the starter was solid… until it wasn’t. But my real frustration lies in the fact that Fields was never given the chance to reclaim the starting spot. The Steelers floundered, and instead of giving Fields another shot, they moved on without ever considering him for the long term.

“You’re overreacting, Austin! The Steelers haven’t made a decision yet!” Sure, but tell that to Fields after everything he’s been through. How can he trust the team after all the back-and-forth?

You don’t have to believe that Fields is our long-term savior, but after his promising start, he deserves a real opportunity to prove himself. Other teams are already eyeing him, and that speaks volumes about his potential.

So, Pittsburgh—forget the aging veterans and the unproven names. I’m done with resumes and untapped potential. We’ve seen Fields win, and now I want to see him win more before we start looking elsewhere. If you still care about your legacy as a powerhouse, I hope you make the right call.
