Clemson football leads the way in recruiting 2026 WR top talented

Clemson football has reestablished itself as a College Football Playoff contender in 2024, with their Atlantic Coast Conference title run attracting top recruits. This includes four-star wide receiver Naeem Burroughs, who has chosen Clemson as the first stop for his spring/summer visits.

The reigning ACC champions will host Burroughs before he visits three other schools, including Texas, according to Hayes Fawcett of On3. Burroughs, the No. 10 ranked wide receiver in the 2026 class, will meet with Clemson before heading to Austin to check out the team that knocked them out of the CFP.

Texas will be the final school to host Burroughs, with Florida (June 6-8) and USC (June 13-15) also on his visit schedule. His Texas trip will occur from June 20-22.

Despite the competition, Clemson is in a strong position to land Burroughs, with head coach Dabo Swinney and his staff preparing to make a compelling case for the dynamic wideout before his visits to the other schools.

Clemson’s 2026 Recruiting Class: Strong Start or Work to Do?

With the early signing period for the 2026 class still 10 months away, Clemson is in the process of securing commitments. Currently, the Tigers sit at No. 22 overall in the 2026 rankings by 247Sports, just outside the top 20, and behind four ACC rivals.

Florida State leads the ACC, holding the top spot in the conference with seven commits, including five four-stars. Surprisingly, Syracuse ranks second with nine verbal pledges, followed by Boston College and North Carolina under new head coach Bill Belichick.

As of February 22, Clemson has secured six commitments, including offensive tackle Braden Wilmes from Lawrence, Kansas. With Burroughs potentially joining the class, the Tigers could rise in the national rankings.
