Broncos Eyeing TE Linked to Sean Payton in Free Agency.
The Denver Broncos are focused on upgrading their offensive weapons this offseason, especially at running back and tight end. A key question remains—will they address these needs in free agency or the NFL Draft?

According to Tony Pauline, the Broncos are expected to pursue a tight end in free agency, with Saints TE Juwan Johnson emerging as a potential target. Johnson, who originally signed with Sean Payton’s Saints as an undrafted free agent in 2020, played under Payton for two seasons, recording 17 catches for 198 yards and four touchdowns. Last season, he stepped up with 50 receptions for 548 yards and three touchdowns.
Denver’s tight end production has been underwhelming in recent years. Adam Trautman led the group last season with just 188 yards and two touchdowns, and no Broncos TE has surpassed five touchdowns in a season since Julius Thomas in 2014.
The Broncos have also been linked to Michigan tight end Colston Loveland in the NFL Draft. ESPN’s Mel Kiper sees Loveland as a great fit for Denver at pick No. 20, highlighting his size (6-foot-5) and ability to create separation as key assets for rookie QB Bo Nix.
Whether Denver secures a tight end in free agency or the draft, expect them to make a significant investment in the position to support their new franchise quarterback.
