Clemson Lands Official Visit from Rising 2026 Star Near Home Turf

Things are heating up for Clemson on the recruiting front.

As the recruiting dead period comes to an end, prospects across the country are finalizing their visit plans, getting a chance to see the programs pursuing them, either for the first time or again.

Clemson is eager to build a strong recruiting class.

During their peak, they consistently landed top-tier talent year after year—something that hasn’t been as consistent in recent cycles.

The Tigers are looking to turn that around with the 2026 class. While three-star linebacker Caleb Gordon may not be considered one of the top elite recruits, Clemson needs to start filling out their roster, especially with just six current commits.

Gordon, a 6-foot, 215-pound linebacker from North Carolina, has scheduled an official visit with the Tigers.

According to Anna Adams of 247Sports, Clemson will be the first stop for Caleb Gordon’s official visit, scheduled for the weekend of May 30. After that, he will visit Liberty on June 13 and Virginia on June 19. These three schools made it to his top eight list, and he’s reportedly working on scheduling visits with the other schools.

Clemson could gain a significant edge heading into this visit.

Gordon will be on campus this weekend for the Tigers’ junior day event, a key recruiting occasion where prospects and the coaching staff can strengthen their connections.

Clemson currently has no linebackers committed in the 2026 class, so although Gordon may not be a highly-ranked recruit—sitting 72nd at his position and 896th overall in the 247Sports Composite Rankings—he could still play a vital role in the team’s plans.
