Broncos Secure Top Running Back in Latest NFL Mock Draft

On the same day that ESPN’s Mel Kiper unveiled an updated NFL mock draft, NFL Network’s Daniel Jeremiah also released his latest version.

Jeremiah’s mock draft has the Denver Broncos selecting North Carolina running back Omarion Hampton with the 20th overall pick in the first round.

“Head coach Sean Payton loves to run his offense through tight ends, running backs, and slot receivers,” Jeremiah wrote on NFL.com. “The Broncos added their tight end in free agency with Evan Engram, and now they grab a dynamic running back.”

Last season, Hampton rushed for 1,660 yards and 15 touchdowns while also catching 38 passes for 373 yards and two additional scores as a receiver out of the backfield.

Like Kiper, Jeremiah has Boise State running back Ashton Jeanty going to the Las Vegas Raiders with the sixth pick. He also has Penn State tight end Tyler Warren going to the Indianapolis Colts at No. 14 and Michigan tight end Colston Loveland being selected by the Seattle Seahawks at No. 18.

The NFL draft is scheduled for April 24-26, and the Broncos currently hold seven picks in this year’s draft.
