A former Baltimore Ravens player has found a new team in Chicago, as reported by FOX Sports insider Jordan Schultz.
Schultz shared on Twitter: “Sources: The Bears have agreed to a 1-year contract with wide receiver and two-time Pro Bowl returner Devin Duvernay. Another significant signing for Chicago.”
Drafted in the third round of the 2020 NFL Draft by the Ravens out of the University of Texas, the 27-year-old Duvernay was intended to be a reliable option for quarterback Lamar Jackson.
Although he saw limited action on offense, Duvernay excelled as a return specialist. He earned Pro Bowl honors as the AFC’s returner in both 2021 and 2022.
In just his second NFL season, 2021, Duvernay also received First-team All-Pro recognition.
After the Ravens opted not to re-sign him a year ago, Duvernay joined the Jacksonville Jaguars, where he continued to make an impact on special teams rather than offense.
Now, he’s moving to the NFC North to play for the Bears, who faced challenges with their special teams last season but are looking to improve with the addition of the former Ravens standout returner.
