Frank Mitchell has become the third Gophers player to enter the transfer portal, following Kadyn Betts and Tyler Cochran, after the team dismissed coach Ben Johnson at the end of the season.
Having transferred from Canisius to Minnesota before the last season, Mitchell appeared in 29 games during the 2024-25 season, averaging 4.9 points and 4.7 rebounds in 15.6 minutes per game. The next head coach of the Gophers will face the challenge of addressing multiple roster vacancies as players continue to leave the program.
